Interlibrary Loan (ILL) through ILLiad offers current Gonzaga students, faculty, and staff access to materials not held in the Foley library print or online collection. ILL requests are processed on a first come first served basis. When you place an ILL we process and send your request to other libraries that own the item. If they are willing, they send us the item to be checked out in the case of a book, or delivered electronically in the case of an article. For book requests, the process takes an average of 5-10 day. Articles may take that long, but are often received within a day or two. You will be notified by email when the items arrive. The nature of ILL , is that we cannot guarantee the receipt of any item.
To request an item through Interlibrary Loan, you must first identify yourself to the library's ILLiad system. To do this you fill out a registration form using your Web browser. Registration has three purposes:
During registration, you will be asked to choose a Username and Password. You will use this Username and Password when logging on to the ILLiad system in the future.
WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
Before registering, please read the ILLiad FAQ. The FAQ may answer other questions you have about the ILLiad interlibrary loan system.
